Garcia & Artigliere Secures $650,000 Settlement Against California Residential Care Facility for Elder Abuse

Garcia & Artigliere elder abuse attorneys Stephen Garcia secured a $650,000 settlement on behalf of their elderly client who suffered financial harm by two Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) located in Pasadena and Yucca Valley, CA.

The lawsuit asserts that during the admissions process, the Defendants intentionally concealed from the Plaintiff that their facilities were chronically understaffed and they could not provide necessary services to meet resident needs. Further, the facilities were not devoting sufficient financial resources to protect the health and safety of residents and ensure resident rights were not violated. Instead, the facilities diverted those resources to create ill-begotten profits. It’s alleged the Defendants deceived the Plaintiffs into believing the facilities were properly operated to induce them into becoming residents. Had the Plaintiff known the truth, they would not have become a resident and paid substantial money for substandard care.
