Woman involved in a accident with truck carrying hazardous materials
A 50-year old woman traveling with her husband, not too long ago, crashed into an 18-wheeler on the westbound Interstate 4 in Daytona Beach. The impact caused 25 gallons of diesel fuel to spill on Interstate 4.
Daytona Beach medical personnel transported the woman to a nearby hospital after she complained of pain on her side. She suffered critical injuries while her husband was not hurt. Volusia County Environmental Control crews were on the scene to clean up the fuel spill.
The accident is under investigation to determine why the car lost control and crashed into the tractor-trailer.
