Three killed in tractor-trailer accident

A 42-year old big-rig driver from Texas was driving north on U.S. 27 when he saw two cars on the highway and couldn’t stop in time to avoid hitting them.  His wife was asleep next to him.  When he attempted to stop but couldn’t, she was thrown towards her husband’s legs.  She suffered minor injuries.< Three people were killed (two 19-year olds and a 15-year old) and four were injured.  The injured parties are either in stable condition or have been released from the hospital.  The semi driver was not hurt. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.  They believe illegal racing may have contributed to this fatal accident.  Witnesses have said that two vehicles were just sitting next to each other on a desolate stretch of the highway in the Everglades.  The accident happened in an area where State Troopers recently shut down a street-racing gathering.  One of the drivers stated he was not racing and that he was stopped due to car trouble.  It would be wise for all concerned to contact an experienced and skillful Florida Trucking Attorney to determine their options at this time.
