Semi-truck accident knocks down power lines
Over 100 residents in Macon, Georgia were without power the other night when a semi-trailer truck got tangled on some electrical power lines and pulled them down, cutting off the power in the neighborhood for several hours. Once the driver realized what had happened, he stopped the truck.
The truck had a logo of a trucking company based in Jacksonville, Florida. There were no other vehicles involved and the driver was not hurt. Police closed down the surrounding area so the Georgia Power Company could check for live wires on the ground. Police are investigating to determine if the power lines were too low or if the semi-truck or if the truck was on a street with height restrictions.
