Pedestrian killed by semi-truck in Union County
Florida Highway Patrol officials are trying to determine why a 25-year old pedsetrian, was lying on State Road 100 early in the morning recently. Reports indicate that he was killed when a semi-truck hit him. The 52-year old driver tried to stop when he saw the pedestrian in the road, but could not do so in time and ran over him.
The pedestrian died at the scene. The trucker was not hurt. An investigation is underway to determine what happened. It is not clear why he was just lying in the road. Officers do not think alcohol was a factor but are waiting for test results; charges are pending at this time. My sympathies go to the family of the pedestrian.
I sincerely believe the unnamed trucker should consult with an experienced Truck Accident Attorney to investigate on his or her behalf.
