Stephen Garcia Presents at Louisville Bar Association Spring Ethics Conference on the Ethical Quagmires Related to Multi-level Representation

Stephen Garcia presented at the Louisville Bar Association – 2014 Annual Spring Ethics CLE discussing some of the most common issues plaintiff’s counsel face when dealing with multi-level representation. His session “Multi-level Representation in Long-term Healthcare: Ethical Quagmires” similarly addressed the issues that lead to unethical representation, the Professional Rules of Conduct and why it is seldom complied with and how defense counsel will face disqualification due to non-compliance of ethical requirements. Also under debate, was the issue of whether corporations should seek multiple attorneys in order to avoid the conflict of interest related to multi-level representation.

The 2014 Annual Spring Ethics CLE focused on recent developments in professional responsibility, concentrating on the latest ABA and KBA formal opinions, new rule changes, and most recent case law touching upon lawyer ethics.
