Florida’s Office of Motor Carrier Compliance
The Office of Motor Carrier Compliance was established by the Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Public Service Commission in 1980.
The goal of this office is to assist the Florida Department of Transportation in providing commercial vehicle safety and weight enforcement. They work daily to reduce the number of commercial trucking accidents by performing safety inspections on commercial trucks. The officers conduct over 100,000 inspections each year.
Another goal is to protect Florida’s highways and bridges from overweight vehicles. There are over 20 weigh stations used throughout the state. There have been over 20 million inspections performed. Keeping a commercial truck in tip-top shape is very important to the State of Florida.
