Florida rest stops for truckers and motorists

Archives, Trucking Accidents

Good news for truck drivers and all Florida motorists.  The Florida Department of Transportation operates 53 rest areas along Florida’s interstate highways.  These rest areas provide a comfortable, safe, and secure place for those traveling in Florida to stop and rest.  Most of rest areas are about 45 minutes apart from each other.  They give the traveler clean restrooms, a place to sit and eat, telephones and vending machines.

In addition to the rest areas, beginning in November, the turnpike plazas will get a face-lift.  These areas run between Central Florida south to Miami/Dade County.  The overhaul involves eight service plazas.

With all these beautiful places to stop, fatigue truckers will have no excuse to take a well-needed rest from time to time.
