Florida rest area information

Archives, Trucking Accidents

Most semi-truck drivers drive long hours, carrying heavy loads.  When they travel through the State of Florida, they require a rest time to sleep or just to take a break from behind the wheel.  The Florida Department of Transportations offers 53 rest areas providing a safe, secure and comfortable place for truckers and other travelers – each about 45 minutes apart.  The rest areas offer telephones, vending machines and restrooms.

While traveling in the State of Florida, an individual can call 511 for the most-up-to-date traffic information.  The Florida Administrative Code Rule, Chapter 14-28.002 contains other regulations and restrictions for traveling Florida roads.  Florida also provides visitors and travelers with Welcome Centers found at entrances to the State on I-10, U.S.-231, and I-95.
