Lawsuit Against Escondido Nursing Home for Elder Abuse and Negligence
As published in The Coast News, we filed a lawsuit against Oakmont of Escondido Hills on behalf of Naomi Davis for dependent adult abuse, and negligent hiring and supervision. The lawsuit alleges that the facility failed to provide an adequate response to Davis’ deteriorating health conditions.
Davis was admitted to Oakmont of Escondido Hills in 2014. From there, the complaint alleges that Davis’ health began to deteriorate rapidly, culminating with her departure from Oakmont in April 2018. During that time period, Davis is alleged to have been hospitalized multiple times, fallen on several instances, gotten into physical altercations with other residents and staff and suffered wounds, including ear lacerations and bruising.
After being moved to a different facility in April, however, it’s alleged that Davis’ ailments subsided and she has not fallen since being moved. Davis has also regained some of her memory capacity, including the ability to recognize her family.
