100 Deadliest Highways for Truckers
Truckers beware. The following is a must-read for you. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently put together a list of the 100 deadliest highways in America. Florida’s Interstate-95 was at the top. The report covered a four-year period ending in 2008. It states that there were over 650 fatal accidents on Interstate-95 during that timeframe. This means there were 1.7 fatal crashes per mile.
A Florida Highway Patrol officer believes driver distraction is the main reason for so many accidents. The NHTSA’s report indicates that almost 6,000 people died as a result of distractions in 2008. Other deadly highways in Florida include Interstate-4.
Florida Highway Patrol advises semi-truck drivers to bypass these highways if at all possible – make your road trip a safe one.
