This December, the National Elder Abuse Symposium will take place in Anaheim, California. The conference will teach attendees how to identify, investigate, and prosecute cases involving elder and dependent adult abuse. At Garcia & Artigliere, our role as elder law attorneys involves detailed study and practice in this area. This conference is designed to provide the latest techniques in elder abuse prosecution to not only lawyers, but law enforcement, adult protective services, medical professionals, and victim advocates.

The 3 ½-day seminar (designed by the California District Attorneys Association) will provide guidance on elder abuse topics such as:

• Common Thefts & Scams
• Medical Documentation regarding issues such as medical negligence
• Elder Financial Abuse A-Z
• Proving Neglect, ie. nursing home neglect
• Elder Domestic Violence
• Conditional Exams

Confirmed co-hosting agencies include the California Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud & Elder Abuse and the National District Attorneys Association. We are in great support of this symposium, as it promises to deliver valuable training on preventing and reporting elder abuse in California — awareness and techniques which will hopefully extend throughout the country.

To register, complete the online registration form. We highly recommend the course if you’re employed in any industry which deals with elder abuse and its aftermath.
