Edward Lara

Ed Lara has practiced as a civil trial lawyer since he joined the California State Bar in December 2000. Mr. Lara has handled cases in both State and Federal courts and has been involved in arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association, JAMS, and several other industry-specific ADR tribunals. He has litigated matters for a number of individuals and companies involving several areas of law including contract, entertainment, class actions, unfair competition, false advertising, fraud, insurance, copyright, trademark and employment.

Mr. Lara obtained his Bachelor's degree from U.C. Berkeley, graduating with Honors, and his law degree from Columbia University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Business and Human Rights Law Reviews. Mr. Lara also externed for the Honorable Alex Kozinski of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals while in law school. He began his legal career in the business litigation department at Christensen Miller Fink Jacobs Glaser Weil & Shapiro LLP. In 2003 he joined Liner Yankelevitz Sunshine & Regenstreif LLP and was recruited in 2006 to join a small firm in West Los Angeles started by a former litigation partner at the Liner firm. Mr. Lara joined the Garcia Law Firm in 2008 where he currently focuses on elder abuse and consumer fraud cases.

A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Lara is a member of the State Bar of California, the Mexican American Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
